Artist Branding Playbook - Part 8 - Make the Handoff

Develop custom brand guidelines that empower your team.

Okay, you’ve done the whole playbook:

Congrats. Now what?

The ultimate goal is to have a team that can help you amplify your brand.

Now you must help them so they can help you.

That’s why you need a brand guide. You need a doc or ‘deck’ that you can pass off to your team to make sure you are all on the same page about the brand.

For this final post of the Artist Branding Playbook, I am sharing a brand guide that I made for HOME for Music Media. This is technically a different organization than HOME - Helping Our Music Evolve - although they are closely related.

Each brand you create can be thought of as a vehicle designed to achieve a certain purpose.

Helping Our Music Evolve is a music industry support hub. The purpose is to provide space, connections, and a support system for aspiring music professionals.

After meeting and coaching hundreds of those aspiring music professionals, I realized that another HUGE problem is the lack of education.

Without education, you can have no strategy to succeed in an industry - especially one as weird and complicated as the music industry.

That’s what led me to start HOME for Music Media. Check out the brand guidelines to learn more!

This deck was created in Canva using this template. Use the same template to create your own brand guidelines or start from a different template to add more of your personal flair.

Now, you have everything you need to empower your team to spread your message.

I’ll leave you with a quote…

A brand is not a logo. A brand is not an identity. A brand is not a product… a brand is a person’s gut feeling about a product, service, or organization.

P.S. Are you coming to Playback tonight? It's going to be an epic night of music and good vibes!

Don't worry if you can't make it, we'll be sure to keep you in the loop. We'll be posting about it on the HOME for Music platform, so keep an eye out for some highlights 👀

I'm super stoked to see some familiar faces and catch up with so many of you!
